Healthy Buildings: Calgary Climate Symposium

Join me for a panel discussion!

The City of Calgary is hosting their annual Climate Symposium from November 2 - 7, 2019.

Join me at this event on November 7, 2019! As a panel member representing Passive House Alberta, I will discuss how buildings play an important role in healthy environments.

“Greenhouse gas emissions from buildings account for a large share of Canada’s overall emissions. When emissions associated with the electricity generated for use in homes and buildings are included, building emissions in Canada add up to about 111 million tonnes of greenhouse gases, or 17% of the country’s total emissions.” (https://sencanada.ca/content/sen/committee/421/ENEV/reports/ENEV_Buildings_FINAL_e.pdf, November 2018)

“Climate change is a complex challenge that can seem overwhelming. This discussion and demonstration will demystify individual actions Calgarians can take to reduce contributions to climate change, such as switching to renewable energy, home energy efficiencies and upgrades, active commuting, electric vehicles, local food and more.” (https://www.calgary.ca/UEP/ESM/Pages/Climate-change/Calgary-Climate-Symposium.aspx, October 2019)
